
This course examines the issue of anger management and how teachers can identify the personal anger triggers and responses in students. Using a variety of control strategies to have student express anger constructively to deal with crises situations are presented. Activities and handouts are available to use in the classroom and counseling situations. The course expands the repertoire of interventions techniques for individual or group settings. Setting various realistic expectations for student's second-language proficiency are also presented. Educators will also research the topic of anger management along with an application essay or develop lessons for implementation. (3 credits)

After the chapter reviews, find a research article related to anger management and write an article review/reflection about the articles content. Write a two page application essay regarding your experience and understanding of the book Anger Management for Youth: Stemming Aggression and Violence by Leona Eggert. The essay will pull together the book content, article review and your personal perspectives. It should be in an area of interest that is relevant to your teaching and life experience. Topics could include a research paper, internet search, a chapter or topic analysis, an activity, or write a lesson or unit-plan. Write about your own teaching experience and how you will apply the information in the book to your teaching methodology or classroom environment.
